Awning Maintenance and Care Guide

Investing in a high-quality sun protection system is the first step to transforming your home or business into a comfortable space. At CADET, we select materials with a 5-year warranty certificate to ensure your investment is durable. However, basic maintenance is key to prolonging the lifespan of the mechanisms and technical fabrics.

Below, we offer the best tips for caring for your awning or pergola.

Automatic
and Motorized Systems

Since the preferred operation in most CADET models is automatic or motorized, care of the electrical system is vital.

  • Climate sensors: If your pergola has rain, wind, or sun sensors, keep the detection cells clean so the system maintains its full autonomy.
  • Adjustable louvers: For bioclimatic pergolas, perform a complete opening and closing cycle (from 0º to 135º) at least once a month to keep the motorized mechanism well-lubricated and operational.
  • Remote control use: Avoid manually forcing the mechanisms if the system is exclusively motorized, as this could invalidate the warranty.

Seasonal Recommendations

  • Winter: If you have a Waterproof Pergotenda, you can enjoy the outdoors thanks to its resistance to demanding conditions. However, for conventional awnings, it is recommended to keep them retracted during heavy storms or snowfalls.
  • Summer: Take advantage of the adjustable louvers in the bioclimatic pergola to create natural ventilation and reduce indoor air conditioning consumption.
